  • How to Obtain Larger Crossbar Spread On a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • The Yakima JetStream Crossbar System part # Y00425, part # Y53TR, part # Y00239 would be a great option for a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon. It will provide you with a 30" crossbar spread which will be the most that's available. Unfortunately, you won't be able to move any attachment points for the systems outside of what is recommended as these points are chosen based on the strong points of the roof. The systems that attach to the raised side rails all have a 20-21" spread.

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2018 Subaru Outback Towing Trailer with Surge Brakes
  • Since your trailer has surge brakes you would not need a brake controller but you will need a 7-way installed on the 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon that has the 12 volt accessory and reverse light circuit active. So you'd need the part # 118467 that you referenced as well as the 7-way adapter part # ETBC7L and you'd be set. With the 7-way adapter you'd have to run a wire up to the vehicle battery as well as a wire to the reverse light circuit.

  • Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller and 7-Way in 2018 Subaru Outback
  • You would have needed to start with a 4-way first to install a 7-way and brake controller in your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon like the # 118467 so you are on the right track whether you knew it or not! So the easiest to install brake controller that also works really well is the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180. Basically this just plugs into an active 7-way and once you sync it to your phone it's ready to go. This brake controller is proportional which means it senses the amount of deceleration...

  • Can Two Sets of Rhino Rack J-Style Kayak Carriers Fit on Factory Crossbars of 2006 Subaru Outback
  • The Rhino Rack J-Style Kayak Carriers # S510 that you referenced does fit the factory crossbars of your 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon. You'd easily be able to fit two of these on the rack as well.

  • Towing Capacity and Parts Needed to Tow With 2017 Subaru Outback
  • When it comes to towing capacities we use the same resource that you mentioned, the owner's manual, as the vehicle manufacturer has the definitive say on towing capacities. For your 2017 Subaru Outback you were correct that the maximum towing capacity is 2,700 lbs, so long as the trailer has brakes, and 1,000 lbs without brakes, but for a small camper, those are almost certainly going to have brakes. What that means is pretty simple - the trailer, when fully loaded, cannot exceed 2,700...

  • Recommended Snow Cable Tire Chains for 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • The owner's manual for your 2018 Subaru Outback specifically states that traditional chain link style Tire Chains should not be used because of the lack of clearance to the wheel well and between the inside of the wheel well and the suspension/braking components. It goes on to say that Class S cable chains are acceptable, and should only be used on the front wheels. I'd recommend going with the Titan Chain # TC343DC Diagonal allow Cable Snow Chains, which is a fit for your tire size. The...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2006 Subaru Outback
  • I am afraid that there are no trunk mount bike racks that will fit the 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon. A trunk mount bike rack cannot be safely attached to the vehicle. Instead, the best bet would be to install a trailer hitch. Since you will just want to carry the one bike, possibly 2 bikes, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 36334. This is a Class II trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. I have included a link to the installation details for you. For a compatible bike rack, I...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2017 Subaru Outback with Factory 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch
  • The factory Subaru hitch on your 2017 Outback Wagon has the pin hole very close to the end of the receiver. This is a problem for most bike racks because it means that not enough of the rack shank will be in the receiver to safely use the rack. The Kuat Sherpa # SH12G pin hole is not far back enough on its shank for enough of the shank to fit in the receiver of the OEM Subaru hitch. Pretty much the only bike rack I recommend for the factory Subaru hitch is the Swagman XC # S64650. It is...

  • Roof Rack With 48 Inch Crossbars Recommendation For 2013 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • If your 2013 Subaru Outback Wagon has the factory raised side rails, I recommend the Yakima Roof Rack With The TimberLine Towers. For this system you will need to order part # Y03536, part # Y33TR, and part # Y00408. This system includes 48 inch round crossbars. The Yakima JetStream system referenced above is one of the best on the market as far as quality and ease of use goes!

  • Recommended Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier For 2016 Subaru Outback
  • If your 2016 Subaru Outback has the factory installed raised side rails I recommend using the Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Aluminum - Silver # JA7956 since this rack system comes with locks to secure the bars to your vehicle, and will safely allow you to carry up to 165-lbs. If you've got flush mounted rails on your Outback you'll want to use the Thule Roof Rack System using parts # TH711200, # TH460R and # THKIT4063 It sounds like you also may...

  • Recommended Hitch and Ball Mount for a 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • The Draw-Tite # DT94YR is specifically designed to fit the 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon. I included an install video for you to check out as well. As to the ball mount. The vast majority of U-Haul trailers will have a coupler height of 18 inches. As the # DT94YR will sit at 15 3/4 inches on a stock 2021 Outback Wagon, I suggest going with the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2-3/4" Rise, 4" Drop - 9" Long - 7.5K - 10K # 2753. This actually includes the pin and clip, so you would only...

  • Does Moonroof on 2018 Subaru Outback Affect Carrying Capacity with Roof Rack
  • I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2018 Subaru Outback and it just lists a total weight capacity (including crossbars) of 176 pounds if adding crossbars to the factory side rails or 150 pounds if using the integrated crossbars (if equipped). It does not list or call out a difference in roof capacity for models that have the moonroof, so it doesn't appear that this feature affects the capacity in any way. It's still a good idea to verify this in your copy...

  • Recommended Cover for Single 7 Gallon Propane Tank
  • The only hard single propane cover we have available is the Camco RV 20 Pound Tank Cover # CAM40565, which looks like it may be a bit too small for your 7 gallon tank. As you mentioned, we do have dual 30 pound tank covers with part # CAM40532 which is Colonial White. There's no particular reason you couldn't use this for your single tank, other than the fact that it will just be a bit roomy inside the cover. I have attached a short video demonstration on this cover that you can also check out.

  • Recommended Ski Carrier for 2018 Subaru Outback With Factory Roof Rack
  • I highly recommend checking out the Yakima FreshTrack # Y03092 for a 4-ski carrier or FreshTrack # Y03093 for a 6-ski carrier. These ski racks have been confirmed to fit the factory crossbars on your 2018 Subaru Outback and is locking to help keep your skis and the carrier safe. The FreshTrack offers convenience in the form of a push-button opening and your skis will stay put and scratch-free inside the carrier due to its rubber molding. I have added a link to video reviews of both...

  • Towing Capacity and Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6L
  • I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2017 Subaru Outback with the 3.6L engine and it lists a towing capacity of 1,000 pounds for a trailer without brakes and 2,700 pounds for a trailer with brakes. As you mentioned it lists a tongue weight capacity in either case of 200 pounds. A vehicle's tongue weight capacity is usually just 10 percent of its towing capacity, but there are certain instances like on your Subaru Outback where this is not the case. I am not...

  • Mounting A Thule Roof Rack To 2011 Subaru Outback With Factory Crossbars
  • At first glance your roof rack appears to only take a raised rail foot pack, but that is not your only option. Your 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon actually has fixed points built into the raised rails. The foot pack that works with those fixed points is the Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars - Fixed Point - Qty 4. part # TH460R. It attaches to a fit kit specifically designed to fit your 20011 Subaru Outback Wagon. The Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet- 3068, part # THKIT3068 is...

With that said the Curt hitch part # C67JR which also is a fit for your 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon we do have an install video for. This hitch installs almost exactly the same so you could use the attached video as a guide.

  • Recommended Towing Mirrors for my 2020 Subaru Outback
  • I really like the K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors part # KS3990 you saw. There are no custom fit towing mirrors for the Outback so these as far as what I have seen hold the best and most solid. Generally I make installation and demo videos of the products and have handled a lot of these over the years. You will be happy. Check out the linked video to see how they fit the 2019 Outback.

  • Should an Old Boat Trailer Axle be Replaced if the Seal was Attached in an Odd Way
  • From what you described about how the parts were installed on the axle, I highly recommend replacing the axle. This will also go for the hubs. It sounds like everything was made to be permanently sealed on the spindle, which is definitely not suggested. To get a replacement, we will have a few options available. First will be a standard style axle that will span the width of the trailer. The Dexter # 35545I-ST-89 will measure 89 inches from hub face to hub face, and 74 inches from center...

  • Recommended Roof Rack For a 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness With Factory Roof Rails
  • I recommend the Thule WingBar Evo roof rack for your 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness. For this you will need the Crossbars # TH711320 and Feet # TH710401. I prefer this system as the crossbars use a 2-piece channel seal which allows you to easily add channel mounted accessories without having to pull out or trim the single piece seals. The Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450800 will provide you with 8 keyed alike lock cores. Four of these will be used to secure the roof rack to...
